Re: Ambivalently American
In Response To: Ambivalently American ()

I cannot say that I can argue that just because your not a U.S. citizen, that you don't deserve freedom of speech rights that are provided to U.S. citizens. There is Anti-American sentiment present in your press. There is Anti-American sentiment in U.S. press. You may have not burned the U.S. flag or effigies. The problem is that Roy Austin may feel that you are biting the hand that feeds you. Thats a no no. You claim that you love so many things produced or provided by representatives of U.S. culture, but you act as if you could care less if the U.S. fell to some other nation.

I have suggested this many times before. If your nation doesn't agree with U.S. policy, then why do business. The U.S. isn't the only country in the world to do business with.

Yes we boycotted the French and their goods. They have been a week link in Europe far too long not to support us when we need them. If it were'nt for the U.S., they may not any longer speak that stuffy language. Instead they would be speaking German. The U.S. bailed them out in Veitnam. It was because of the U.S. military effort that allowed the Frenchies to go home and suck their thumbs while we had suffered heavy losses. I could only pray that they have a conflict in the near future where they would need our help.

Iraq hated the U.S. before the war. Saddam used to be on our payroll and they hated the U.S.. We try to stabilize their country so that the lives of their people will be improved, and instead we get resistance. They need the U.S. not the other way around. They may have oil, but we could develope other ways of producing energy to replace oil in the private sector. We could tap our own reserves in the southwest and in Alaska. What will they do when tho oil runs out and they haven't prepared themselves for maintaining their oil based economy without oil. Their one dimentional country will be lost and all because they didn't want to deal with us.

Lets not get it twisted. If you are with us, you are with us. If you are against us then you are against us. Why hide your true identity. Don't purchase U.S. goods. Send a message. Make it clear. The same hypocrites that "hate" on the U.S. in the press are the same ones that will be eating at KFC, Pizza Hut, Churches (the worst chicken in the world) etc. They will be the same that are dawning Nike sneakers and watching our garbage on TV. The same that speak out against the U.S. attend our Universities and work where we could be employed. Get it out in the open if you don't like the U.S., and then don't do business.

The world wonders why the U.S. is vexed when it comes to why they are hated by various groups. We export our services and products to people who want them. Not only that, there are so many people that immigrate into the U.S. every year that seem ready to leave their other countries for what they think is the best place to live. Why should any "american" have a clue as to what is really going on when they receive a different message from immigrants and business?

Just get it out in the open. No need to cover anything up. If you really don't like the U.S., why don't you refrain from trying to be the U.S.. Everyone criticizes the Bush administration about Iraq, but what about Liberia. When was the last time a U.S. president realy helped an African Nation?

Of coarse you won't. Your to scared. Better to live as a slave than to die as a rebel? Think of that the next time you bite the hand that feeds you.
