Re: What is this preoccupation with black unity

Historically there has been a flawed presumption that the ills of the descendents of former slaves continues because they have not been united as a people. And you must admit that even from a great distance, I am not alone in recognizing the fallacy, even as your political leaders continue to suscribe to that notion. So that you do not wiggle out of this observation, I am referring to black Americans.

You are both mongrels who are kept at arms length by those of similar colour whose racial heritage has not been soiled by slavery or predatory interacial sexual encounters. Generations of denial have found you embracing colour as an anecdotal remedy. Your colour has forced you to abandon the other contributor to your being; the white European connection. It is as if you only had mothers. Today, it appears to be that way, so many black homes without fathers and they are not all in prison. And to think that as a psychological crutch you claim to reach out to blacks in Africa, I will not deny their material needs, the question is; do they really need you? If they are clever, they will keep you at arms length because that is where you belong. In America you do have an identity, you can run and jump and sing and provide a wide assortment of entertainment and you do consume. Visions of grandeur repeated, is another midsummer's night dream. On sundays I am told, you become the most segregated of societies. The mother,s progeny have a separate place of worship while the fathers have theirs. You both make great copy.
