Re: Shouter Baptists may seek legal action

The Baptist community may seek legal action against the management of Crown Plaza.

It is now being reported that several baptist leaders are already considering legal action against the management of the Crown Plaza.

The hotel’s Sales Manager Charles Harris last Friday instructed that some 17 baptist leaders, gathered for a seminar there, be asked to leave.

The hotel has since apologised for what it calls a misunderstanding.

The baptist community has already accepted the apology.

However there is now a view that the hotel should be made to pay for the damage done to the baptist faith.

Archbishop Barbara Gray Burke said this morning the hotel has insulted the faith.

Some are calling the actions of Mr. Harris a form of discrimination and Archbishop Gray Burke agrees.

She said although baptists have been free to practice their faith over the past 53 years, last Friday’s situation showed all is still not well.
