As an aside, how about Westernized Africans becoming a beacon for Africans on the African continent. Let's make our African Ancestors proud and instead of looking back look forward. My only problem with Afro-centric symbols and names is that the African has already been there and done that. I am more concerned with what their descendants are doing in the here and now. Influencing global culture is quite an impressive start, even if the Hip-Hop lifestyle and culture is not embraced by the so-called black intellectual: It's leading European and Asian youths by the nose, and there are quite a few black multi-millionaires as a result. Like all trends it too has its negative side but in the end I believe it's done more to bridge the gap than ten thousand "Jomos" screaming "back to Africa" and "African pride".
