Holding UWI'S admission procedures to scrutiny will not provide any real insights to advance this debate. Of course the university is transparent in its admissions policies. It cannot afford not to be. What is happening at this level of the education system has its roots firmly embedded in the primary and secondary levels. And even when we scritinise these, we are not likely to get the whole picture, simply because in a system that has no effecient mechanisms to monitor and control performance of its agencies there is no data to provide evidence to support inquiry. This leaves the system wide open to subtle and unscrupulous manipulation.
