Arrests soon in airport probe
Posted By: News
Date: 5, January 02, at 12:55 a.m.
There were signals yesterday from Government circles that there may soon be arrests arising out of investigations into allegations of corruption in the Piarco Airport project.
Lindquist also met officers from the Anti-Corruption Squad and Queen’s Counsel Karl Hudson-Phillips, who has been retained as counsel for the investigations.
Lindquist said his investigations into the Piarco project are more than 75 per cent complete and it was now a matter of following through on leads.
In his initial report, Lindquist had concluded: “From all information received, and from the examination of available records and documents, we have reasonable grounds to believe that fraudulent schemes were developed and promoted by the various parties throughout the entire contracting period.”
