STATE -HIRED forensic investigator Robert Lindquist and the police anti-corruption unit were stopped in their tracks by Justice Stanley John yesterday in a matter involving the search of premises and seizure of documents of companies identified in the airport probe

The unit, headed by Supt Maurice Piggott, on Tuesday obtained several search warrants under the Proceeds of Criminal Act in an application made before Justice John himself.

The Express learnt that the search warrants were subsequently executed at the offices of insurance giant Maritime, Fidelity Investments, a Maritime subsidiary, and Ish Galbaransingh’s firm of Northern Construction.

Yesterday, Maritime and Fidelity mobilised a high-powered team of lawyers and successfully presented their oral arguments before the judge to set aside the warrant.
