{"id":10409,"date":"2017-12-05T07:42:08","date_gmt":"2017-12-05T11:42:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trinidadandtobagonews.com\/blog\/?p=10409"},"modified":"2017-12-05T17:34:16","modified_gmt":"2017-12-05T21:34:16","slug":"16-murders-in-4-days","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.trinidadandtobagonews.com\/blog\/?p=10409","title":{"rendered":"16 murders in 4 days"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><I><BIG><B>Al-Rawi assures GOVT IN CONTROL<\/B><\/BIG><\/I><\/p>\n<p><I>By Shane Superville and Ryan Hamilton-Davis<br \/>\nDecember 05, 2017 &#8211; <A HREF=\"http:\/\/newsday.co.tt\/2017\/12\/04\/16-murders-in-4-days-double-in-morvant\/\">newsday.co.tt<\/A><\/I><\/p>\n<p><img src='http:\/\/www.trinidadandtobagonews.com\/blogimg\/dvb.jpg' alt='Violence' class='alignleft' \/>Amid an unprecedented crime wave which has seen 16 murders committed within the first four days of December, came an assurance yesterday by Attorney General Faris Al-Rawi that government is in control of the situation.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the 16 murders, which has brought the year\u2019s toll to 461 as compared to 430 for the same period last year, Al-Rawi said he is concerned not only by murders but all crimes.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nHe said government has implemented various initiatives including legislation aimed at reducing violent crimes.<\/p>\n<p>The number of illegal guns seized, is evidence of these initiatives, he said.
