Charged with sister-in-law’s murder
Tarran Nanan, 60, a gardener, of Plum Road Extension, Manzanilla, was charged with the murder of Savitri Narine, as well as three counts of wounding with intent against her daughter, Nirmalla Narine, and bar patrons; Lucien Brown and Matthew Cuffy.

Missing man killed, burnt: Two charged
Kimraj Ramcharan 22, a mechanic, of La Salle Road, Biche, was charged with murder, while his neighbour, Hasim Isahak , 25, a labourer, also of La Salle Road, Biche, was charged with the unlawful disposal of a body.

    For the second time this month, police are investigating the murder of a transsexual woman. The deceased has been identified as Keil Lensay.

    The body of a man was found in the trunk of a car parked near the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba. The man has been identified as Kerwin Buchanan, 42, of Coconut Drive, Morvant.

    $45,000 fine for drugs
    Saying too many people take marijuana use and its effects lightly, Senior Magistrate Cherril-Ann Antoine fined a Palmiste man $45,000 for trafficking the drug yesterday. Leigh Young Lum Kin of Narinesingh Court, Block 1, Palmiste pleaded guilty when he appeared before Antoine yesterday.

    An Embacadere woman collapsed in the San Fernando Magistrates Court yesterday after being granted $400,000 bail on charges of robbery with violence.
